The renovated units are getting closer to completion

The
new look 2nd bedroom is 100% renovated from paint to carpet
and everything in between. Queen size bed replaces the twin/trundle
used since 2004.

One
of the important items missed in the model unit was some type
of table near the bed for glasses, tv remote, etc. It was
addressed with a custom designed wall shelf shown here.

Sorry,
a few photos got blurred. New flat screen 26" wall mounted
HDTV next to the custom closet/dresser insert that gave us
back so much floor space in this small room.

Combined
with the previously installed double hung window for natural
light and fire egress, as well as a new side chair, the small
2nd bedroom has had its space maximized. This and the master
bath are the only areas 100% completed in this first round
of renovation work.

Moving
down the hall we see the brand new kitchen area. Here we have
all new floor tile, including the wall under the counter area
shown here, all new custom hardwood cabinets, sink, plumbing
fixtures, granite countertop and backsplash. The first total
renovation of these items since the resort was built.

Speaking
of the hall the new floor tile is in place throughout the
units. The new layout carries the tile to the master bedroom
entry door for better wear (vs carpet) as well as better definition
of the various room areas. The tile design in the entry hall
mirrors the tray ceiling above it for a dramatic entry look.

Another
slightly blurred photo (no. it's not your PC or eyes) showing
the long awaited master bath area doors - a key part of this
renovation work. No one knows who designed the original, door
free layout, which has been the number one complaint from
owners and guests, but it is being addressed now.

Inside
the bath area are new cabinets, the floor tile, marble countertops,
tub & shower surrounds, new plumbing fixtures and shower
doors. Again a new look replacing the original 15 year old
items installed at construction.

Wherever
possible items have been reused - here we see the genuine
Jacuzzi brand tub (still in great shape and extremely expensive
to replace) as well as the large wall mirror in a new setting.
We do have new custom framed mirrors over the sinks helping
give the whole area a fresh look.

Same
story in the B side, second master bath area. The new floor
tile, new mirror, granite countertop and redesign of the refrigerator
/ microwave location in preparation for the second round of
work. At that time the oversized dresser/entertainment center
will be replaced with a dresser/desk to better utilize the
space in this room and provide a work area.

B
side marble shower surround and new shower enclosure.

The
toilet door for the B side along with the new tile and a glimpse
of the marble tub surround.

Larger
view of the granite tub surround in the B side master bedroom.

Finally
the round one redesign of the living room area. The move of
the tv to the inside wall and change to placement of the sofas
reflect's the new layout needed when the next round brings
in a 52" wall mounted flat screen TV. At that time the
large entertainment unit will be replaced with a lower, smaller
dresser and desk.

Two more
of the blurred photos. In preparation for the second round
of work to include a wall mounted flat screen the cable connections
have to be relocated. Once moved we need to rearrange the
existing furnishings until the second round of work that will
bring in the new paint color scheme, furnishings, carpet,
tv's and soft goods.

The old
chair from the small bedroom gets a new life in the living
room until 2012. With the rearranging as well as the new floor
tile and other changes the unit has a new look and feel as
we get a couple more years of use from our existing furnishings.
These 32 units are expected to be returned to service within
the next two weeks. Then the work will start again on the
next 32 in September 2010. As always it is the goal to keep
the resort improving continuously, while holding expenses
in line with available funding.
