4/25/10 Recent work in pictures

The first round of unit renovations were completed in March with 32 units done. Included were one of the handicap units

The unit has a roll in shower, grab bars and other accessible features

Hand held shower

Fold down shower seat

Grab bars around toilet

At the same time a new patio area dedicated to Cafe customers has been created near the volcano pool

A different color paver was used to distinguish the Cafe area

New tables, a small out bar and logo umbrellas will be installed next

All of the foliage around the pool gets refreshed

Some was planned for the general landscape upgrade and some were replaced due to the harsh, below normal temperatures earlier this year

Another scheduled project was renovation of the pool bathrooms.

As can often occur when the work started the actual condition was much worse than anticipated

It turns out that water and dry rot damage was severe.

Much of the building was actually being supported by the exterior stucco!

It was fortunate the damage was discovered through planned maintenance as a serious storm could have caused a possible collapse of the building.

Making the building meet access standards and to improve the layout required relocation of some plumbing and electrical.

Three weeks later reconstruction is well underway

The damaged walls have been replaced with new framing

Little more than the (expensive) original roof remains - preserving our investment in those recently replaced tiles (2007)

Drainage work outside building

New separate entrances on front of building get framed in. More updates soon
