All
Guests at the resort have been given
this information. Please watch for
weather updates that may effect the
Orlando Area.
CURRENT
UPDATE:
SEPTEMBER
10, 2004
The
resort is fully operational and suffered
no damage from hurricane Frances.
Previous Updates:
SEPTEMBER
6, 2004 11:45AM
The
resort has not had any major damage
due to the storm. Staffing is very
low due to curfews in surrounding counties
and the need for employees to take
care of damage at their homes.
The
pool is expected to reopen late Tuesday
or early Wednesday. Current plans call
for regular check ins to resume on
Wednesday. We ask that guests do not
attempt to arrive prior to Wednesday
9/8 as staffing and cleanup will not
be complete until then.
Currently
buildings 1, 5 and 7 are closed due
to water problems or scheduled renovation
work.
The
area is slowly returning to full operation
as the major theme parks (except Animal
Kingdom and MGM) and the Orlando International
Airport have reopened as of 10AM 9/6.
Just
as a precaution we ask that all visitors
keep an eye on the latest storm (Ivan)
that may set it's path toward Orlando.
PREVIOUS

Please
be informed that Hurricane Frances
is still in the path through Central
Florida and government entities have
ordered evacuation of many of the communities
and are urging the citizens to take
responsibility for their own life protection
and safety.
This
hurricane is powerful and is extremely
large and chances are we will be without
most of the essentials like electricity,
gas, water, TV and telephone for several
days. For your information, government
officials have asked for private citizens
not to use cell phones to free the
traffic through the towers so the emergency
government crews can communicate between
themselves.
The
resort will strictly follow each and
every one of the government directives.
Effective
12 noon today September 4, 2004, we
please ask all our guests:
1. Not to leave your units
2. Close all the window blinds and curtains
3. Do not get close to the windows once the winds start
4. Get in those interior rooms that do not have windows
5. Remain there even if it is uncomfortable
6. Remember that government emergency crews may take a while before they can
get assistance to you and us.
7. After the storm is VERY DANGEROUS to wander around due to the power lines
that may be on the ground or hanging low.
8. Please do not get out until we can assess the damages. BE PATIENT it may
take few hours before we get to you with a final advice. IT IS YOUR SAFETY
that we are most concern about. We have limited resources and also we may be
under other restrictions that we do not know at this point.
The
Orlando airport closed at noon Friday.
Reopening is not anticipated prior
to Monday according to official announcements.
Universal,
Seaworld, Disney and all other parks
closed early Friday and will also be
closed Saturday. It is not known when
they will reopen.
The
Orlando area is largely shut down in
anticipation of the storm. A curfew
is in place starting Saturday limiting
travel to emergencies.

Florida and government entities have

for their own life protection and safety.
For those of you that are planning to
leave the time to do it is as soon as
possible, Friday maybe too late.
This hurricane is powerful and is extremely
large and chances are that most of the
state could be without most of the essentials
for several days, like power, water,
TV and telephone. For your information,
after Hurricane Charley, the cell phones
did not work due to tower loss and the
government officials were urging the
private citizens not to use them so the
government crews could communicate between
themselves.
The resort will strictly follow each
and every one of the government directives.
Effective
early this afternoon, we are going
to start shutting down the swimming
pools and all public areas as needed
for everyone’s safety and protection
and so we can be better prepared for
the last minute arrangements.

This information is to keep you updated
with the latest of the hurricane information.
Overnight it had turned back its path
to come through the Central Florida/Orlando
area.
This hurricane packs winds over 140
miles per hour and it is considered one
of the most powerful to come close to
Florida.
It is both resorts policy to strictly
follow any and all of the government
instructions in order to protect the
lives of the guests, owners, employees
and related people.
We do recommend that you watch the weather
channel as well as the local news as
to what you must do to protect yourself.
If an evacuation is needed, the resort
will fully comply with all the government
authorities requests. As soon as we are
notified about shelters, we will communicate
it to you via telephone and memorandum
if possible. At this point this area
is estimated to start feeling the effects
sometime Friday afternoon.
Due to the circumstances, we may be
forced to close the swimming pools and
some of the public areas before Friday
so we can be better prepared for the
last minute arrangements.
